  • Todays Food - Leftovers!

In the interest of sharing my diet wealth(!) here is the food I've eaten today:

    Breakfast - 2 Boiled eggs.

Lunch - LEFTOVERS!!! 2 large slices of roast pork and 4-5 roast potatoes.

Snack - Salt and Vinegar WALKERS crisps (important that they are walkers, others may contain sugar - even if it's in the form of dextrose etc.)

Dinner - Beef Curry - PATAKS Madras paste in a jar doesn't contaain any sugar. Most sauces in jars / packets do contain sugar and I wouldn't be able to go near them. All I do is fry off the beef with some onion, poor on 2-3 tablespoons of curry paste, a tin of tomatoes and some mushrooms. Served with basmati rice (don't even think about using yoghurt or having a naan bread!!!):D

    One day down!

  • The beginning...kind of.

The year before last I was much heavier than I am now! At 5 foot 3 and 13 stone I was miserable. I went for a food allergy test at my local gym - nothing too medical I don't believe, it was more to do with food intolerance and I don't know anything about the science it was grounded in, if any.

The young lad who 'tested' me informed me that I had a major problem with sugar, and if I was to cut it ALL out then my weight would drop, my skin would clear up (at 24 I still had teenage skin) and my health would generally improve.

I took his advice a little to the extreme and cut out all sugar from my diet - dairy, bread, fruit, processed food etc.

I LOST 4 STONE! It took me about 4 months to lose the first 3.5 stone and then I just dipped into the sugar free diet when I was feeling a little podgy! Now that Christmas is over and done with, it's time for me to start dieting again! I'm getting married in November so hope to be 8 - 8.5 stone for the wedding!

So I've decided to keep a sort of food diary. I was wondering really if anyone else would benefit from meal ideas and advice. Trouble is, and this is something I’ve found as I've gone along - this diet has to be stuck to. Just one little bit of sugar over the weekend when my guard was down (!) meant that the weight just didn't shift. I reckon that 3 months on this diet (being VERY strict) would get results for most people. I'm not trying to sell the diet or anything for that matter - I'd just be interested to know!
